In partnership with One Well Brewing and Maple Hill Auto Group, the monthly drink and draw's anniversary celebration will be the finale to this year’s Tap Takeover on the Mall series.
"We wanted to be a part of Kalamadoodle's two year anniversary in a big way, and partnering with local artists and Tap Takeover for a night of community building and craft beer is a perfect way to celebrate," said One Well Brewing Owner TJ Waldofsky.
The festivities will start at 5:00pm and go until 8:00pm on the North end of the Kalamazoo Mall, between Water Street and Eleanor Street on August 17th. The outdoor event is free and family-friendly, with wristbands provided to those 21 and older.
The event will feature One Well food specials and their craft beer on tap, funk music (Groovement), and a group art show. The art show will spotlight works and live demonstrations from local artists, many who have been involved with One Well Brewing and Kalamadoodle (Patrick Hershberger, Blake Eason, Taylor Grimes, Bad Adz and more).
In August 2014, Kalamadoodle held its first drink and draw event in Kalamazoo. Since then, it has continued to gain interest from local citizens and businesses alike.
Kalamadoodle’s mission is simple-- connect people in fun and refreshing ways! "It's about making new friends and showing everyone they’re capable of being creative." says creator and co-founder, Mike Klok. By asking its attendees to, “Show Us Your Doodles,” they hope to bring the community together by engaging in their imaginations.
"Kalamazoo's unique and passionate craft beer community has been an amazing catalyst for our events," says Klok. "We're constantly inspired by the creative atmosphere that lives in the craft beer industry. There’s no doubt that it translates to the drawings we see on the tables. There are other drink and draw-style events that happen in most major cities, but the community we've built here in Kalamazoo is something special."
The downtown Tap Takeover will pay tribute to that theme and the strong bond growing in Kalamazoo's creative community. You can learn more about Kalamadoodle's Two Year Anniversary at http://www.kalamadoodle.com or visit Kalamazoo Tap Take Over on the Mall on Facebook.
